Our required outpatient year is in PGY 2. We think this outpatient experience greatly informs our residents as they return to inpatient psychiatry in PGY 3. They continue to follow outpatients in PGY 3 and PGY 4, allowing for a longitudinal outpatient experience over 3 years.
